Having discovered that the Porsche Cup has already started in Italy, the French monoserie is in a hurry to open its season.

In 1920, a Belgian journalist came up with the idea of organizing a racing circuit near Liege. Without further ado, the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium gave several village roads between the hills and buildings. The original version was gravel but even on it (just imagine!) a 24-hour race was held.

Then the track was asphalted, then there was Formula-1, then (even later), security issues began to be considered more and more responsibly ... And only in 1972 a new track was built, which excluded contacts with sheds, rustic livestock and other pastoral elements.

The track in the Spa is one of Kimi Raikkonen's favorite places, and Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna also loved it very much. Spa-Francorchamps is unique not even because of the heights variety, but because of its peculiar climate. Rains here are a very usual thing, but very often it rains only over one part of the route, and the rest of the tarmac remains dry. Can you imagine how exciting the races are getting here?!

At the first round of Porsche Carrera Cup France, you, unfortunately, will not see Oleksandr Gaidai on the track: he will miss this race because of employment in business. But, believe us, you will have someone to look after! First, this is our French driver Thomas Nicolle (#15), and secondly, it is Alessio Rovera (# 21), who is already well known to you, and after the performance in Italy is eager to fight with redoubled force!

Since the PCCF race is held within the framework of the WEC "6 hours of Spa" support race, free practices will begin today: at 10:05 and at 15:05 (local time is shown everywhere).

Tomorrow, on May 5, we are expected to qualify for the race at 9:25, and at 14:00 the first race of the weekend starts.

The second race will begin on Saturday at 10:40.
