All the weather options, except perhaps the snow, were tested by Tsunami RT team on his first practice in Navarre...
The new track in Navarre where one of Porsche Carrera Cup France stages takes place in September caught the fancy of Oleksandr Gaidai literally from the first sight:
"It resembles Misano and Paul Ricard, so the tracks that I like to drive on and I'm good at it. This is really my track – medium pace, very skillful, a lot of turn groups where you really have to work. I liked it very much!
And this track is also new for me, there are no already known points, it's driven from scratch. As for the habituation to the vehicle, it's ideal".
Come Ledogar debuting in the role of Oleksandr's coach is also satisfied with his trainee: the time gap between Gaidai and the PCCF-2014 winner was less than 0.2 seconds on a lap after two intense practice days, as for the two other pilots that have participated in Navarre tests (and are planning to participate in Porsche Carrera Cup France of this season), Oleksandr was ahead of them by 0.7 and 1 second on a lap correspondingly.
O. Gaidai: "Come resembles Kevin Estre a lot as for the information presentation technique: everything is clear, logical, he can show it by himself, in the car... Many positive moments to mention.
When it comes to particular nuances we've been working upon, I have such a mistake – I push the accelerator aggressively at the beginning of a turn, and we've been trying to get rid of it. We've also been working on the braking. It revealed that I brake in some turns much later than Come, he was even pleasantly surprised I've been driving and trying to brake later and turn later. I hope it will give its results in the forthcoming season. I am happy to demonstrate a good result today. Both days were nothing but positive!"
And Navarre also did its best to provide the sportsmen with the feeling that they didn't come in vain and didn't give any chance for mechanics to feel bored: the weather was changing every half an hour in these two days. Rain changed to sun and wind that immediately dried the track. In brief, from the practicing point of view the weather was perfect. The main thing is that we hope the weather won't be like that during the race. The only disadvantage of the track for Oleksandr Gaidai was the Spanish cuisine – he didn't like it for some reason...
So, more than half a thousand kilometers are behind, but we have useful experience and positive impressions. And then the French Val de Vienne, the track in Le Vigeant town, is waiting for Tsunami RT team with the test session already next week. French cuisine is especially for Oleksandr Gaidai.
